WWE hyped Carmella’s return on SmackDown for weeks by airing some mystery vignettes. Fans discussed a lot about the woman appearing on TV. But then the tattoos on her body were enough to make the guess. Then it was finally revealed that she’s back on TV after months of hiatus. This time around, she’s channeling an “Untouchable” gimmick.
It should be mentioned that the revelation was made, one week before WWE Draft 2020. But since then, Carmella was no more focused. She was picked by the SmackDown brand but that didn’t mean that she had solidified her spot on the blue brand. In fact, fans are still waiting for her to make a big impression. The good thing is WWE still plans to have big things for her.
Since Carmella didn’t appear on SmackDown during the 2020 WWE Draft, the speculations are running rampant that the creative team of the company forgot about her. In recent times, there’ve been plenty of such examples where such things did happen especially when Vince McMahon gets distracted. But that may not be the case for the Princess of Staten Island.
Carmella To Challenge Sasha Banks For WWE Smackdown Women’s Title?
Ringside News has reported that WWE hasn’t dropped the idea to push Carmella. In fact, they were told, “Carmella’s push is about to become evident.” It was emphasized that something should happen to her, soon. Vince McMahon has forgotten about pushes in the past, halting momentums of certain talents but Mella won’t be one of them.
Carmella is apparently leaving her previous moniker while channeling these Untouchable vibes that make a certain heel. This resembles the previous Emmalina gimmick that was abandoned in 2016. One of the fans did take a jab at the former Women’s Champion about this but she fired back at the concerned person. It seems, she’s also pretty confident about making waves while coming back on SmackDown.
At this point, we can assume that Carmella could be inserted into the championship picture, right away after coming back to the scene. Sasha Banks isn’t likely to continue her feud with Bayley as it’d be repetitive. She needs fresh opponents while leading the female blue brigade. This would also be a fresh rivalry in the WWE which we haven’t previously seen due to brand separations.
