Charlotte Flair is the daughter of the two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair which is one of the reasons why many believe that she is very much privileged. Additionally, she often receives monstrous booking from WWE’s part that forces the haters to believe that she is getting some unnecessary advantages. This often leads to some backlash which has been addressed by the performer herself, recently.
It should be noted that despite the incredible athleticism shown by Charlotte Flair, she entered the WWE Performance Center, nine years ago without any previous knowledge of pro wrestling which is pretty different from her contemporaries like Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch. She basically had to learn everything from scratch to become a benchmark performer on her own.
Charlotte Flair Blasts WWE Fans Who Think She Is Entitled
But obviously, there are still some people who tend to criticize her for what she has achieved in all these years. While speaking to Yahoo Sports, Charlotte Flair addressed those haters who see her getting those opportunities or title runs as hand-outs.
The Queen made it clear that she worked very hard to earn every accolade of her career. Plus, Charlotte Flair mentioned that she will grab any opportunity she is given, because “who in their right mind wouldn’t” take them when they are offered? Here’s more in her own words,
“It’s almost like you get into the business and say you don’t want to be world champion,” Flair said. “You don’t get into the business saying that. You might not like the sports team that’s always making the championships, but that shouldn’t discredit the person. I got to a point where I wondered if I should apologize to people. If someone else was getting these opportunities would they feel sorry for me?”
Lacey Evans Claims To Spend Night With WWE Legend Ric Flair; Taunts Charlotte
“[Critics] don’t know the time I’ve put into what I’m doing. Damn right I’m going to take every opportunity. Who in their right mind wouldn’t take these opportunities just so they can make these people feel better? I have to tell myself that sometimes.”
Charlotte Flair Wants To Show Acting Skills In WWE
Charlotte Flair was absent for a significant part of 2020 due to an enhancement surgery. She returned at TLC in December to pick up the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Asuka on the very first night. So, critics obviously went on to point out how WWE once again handpicked her to hold a title while many are craving to do so for years. But the genetically superior athlete just doesn’t care.
During the interview, Charlotte Flair also revealed that she hopes to show fans some of the acting skills she grew in the past year. While enjoying time-off from WWE television, she was working hard to be a well-rounded performer. Now with a controversial angle going on Raw which has Ric Flair and Lacey Evans involved in a romantic angle, Charlotte has the chance to showcase herself as an actress.
“The transition to the storyline with my dad, I guess the most important thing the viewers have to see is how much I have grown as a performer from the last time I was on TV with him. Fathers and daughters fight. It’s now how I handle it. I’ve turned on my dad before, so now it’s looking at it from a perspective of did he turn on me or am I just fed up. People will need to see how it plays out,” she added.
