The current WWE Raw Women’s champion Charlotte Flair who is also a twelve times WWE Women’s champion recently talked about the growth of women’s wrestling in WWE. Charlotte who joined WWE back in 2015 won a total of twelve WWE Women’s Championship in only six years time.
Women’s wrestling in WWE did not start recently. The defunct WWE Women’s Championship was the oldest Championship in WWE. It was founded back in 1956 and it was first held by the legendary professional wrestler Fabulous Moolah. But women’s wrestling in WWE could never develop properly.

Charlotte Flair On The Growth Of Women’s Wrestling In WWE
At a point, women were treated as sex objects in WWE. The attitude Era is very famous among the professional wrestling fans, mostly on the internet. But the attitude Era was the worst time of women’s wrestling. At a point, Sable and Jacqueline were the prime woman wrestlers of WWE.
But women’s wrestling started to develop from 2015 after WWE started the women’s revolution. It was an excellent time period of WWE for women after the women’s revolution started. Women have main evented the biggest event of WWE two times so far, WrestleMania. Right now, women are treated similarly as men in WWE.

Charlotte Flair who was one of the biggest parts of the women’s revolution in WWE was recently interviewed by Bart & Hahn where she talked about the women’s revolution in WWE and she also talked about the growth of women’s wrestling in WWE. She said;
“Since 2015, we, as a company, have talked about this women’s evolution. And really, the women have done it all since then. So to me, it’s not necessarily celebrating the fact that the women have three matches on the show, it’s that we have continued to have success and continued to take the ball and run with it.

“Now, we’ve pretty much normalized it. No one is going, ‘Oh my gosh, there’s three female matches on the SummerSlam card. Oh my gosh, the females are in the main event of RAW. The females are in the main event of SmackDown.’ That’s how far we’ve come.
“No one who really pays close attention is surprised by the most because we have given it to them time after time and over-delivered. So I think the bigger thing is, it’s normal. If there was just one match, people would be like something’s not right, that’s normal. But now it’s normal to have multiple female matches, multiple female storylines with different feels to each one of them.”
