Former nine times WWE champion Charlotte Flair recently said that anyone can be on the main event of WWE whether they are men or women. Charlotte Flair herself featured on the main events of WWE several times, including WrestleMania.

The first time women featured on the main events of WWE was back in August, 2000. WWE Women’s Champion of the time Stephanie McMahon defended her Championship against Lita. Lita defeated Stephanie McMahon on that night to become the WWE Women’s champion.

Even though this match is not considered as much important of a women’s main event of WWE since this match was mostly used to build other feuds. The more important main event between women was from December 2004, when Trish Stratus defended her Women’s Championship against Lita. This match is still considered as one of the best women’s matches in WWE history.

Nowadays it is pretty common to see women main eventing a show. Women have even main evented WrestleMania. After the women’s revolution, women are actually being treated similar to men, which is an excellent thing.

Charlotte Flair was recently interviewed by Aaron Collins where she said men or women it does not matter; anyone can be on the main event of WWE. She said;

“No one says, ‘that was a great women’s match.’ No, it was just a great match. We are equals all around. The women right now have put so much time and effort into the style, the character, taking pieces from the past, growing with the future, and laying it all out there and having the mindset that just because it’s female, it’s any less.

“We’re storytellers and that’s what we do, that’s why everyone is talking about it. There is no difference, man or woman. Anyone can be the main event and if we are the main event, no one is going ‘oh my gosh, women are the main event.’ We’ve normalized it.”
