Professional wrestling legend and the current AEW star Chris Jericho who is a former six times WWE World champion recently explained why he does not like the current product of the NXT. He also responded to Triple H calling NXT a developmental brand when it got compared to AEW.
The NXT 2.0 had been criticized by most of the fans and critics. NXT has been the development Territory of WWE since 2012 and there was a time when it was treated as the third brand of WWE next to SmackDown and RAW. It has produced some of the biggest names of WWE today including the lives of Seth Rollins and Big E.
Chris Jericho Does Not Like The Current Product Of NXT
But after the arrival of the AEW, it started to lose ratings and it was failing to fight with the newly founded professional wrestling promotion. WWE had no other choice but to change the date of the NXT. When Everything failed WWE finally decided to change the NXT and made it NXT 2.0. The new formation is still going on even after the new creative head.
But somehow NXT is losing its charm. Most of the hardcore NXT fans still prefer the previous version of the NXT and they still believe that it was more fun. Not only Chris Jericho, even the fans are not a big fan of the current NXT product. But we can definitely believe in the new creative team and we hope it becomes better in the near future with the reintroduction of the NXT again.
Chris Jericho who is a former six times WWE World champion recently spoke to Alex McCarthy from Inside The Ropes where he explained why he does not like the current product of the NXT. He also responded to Triple H calling NXT a developmental brand when it got compared to AEW. He said;
“Once again it is just changing the narrative and changing the history, which makes me laugh. Because when it started, it was not developmental, it was a third brand, it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon, and all the other bullshit that they said, so of course we [AEW] beat the developmental or whatever you want to call it, but who gives a shit?
“It’s such old news, and the show sucks, NXT sucks, it’s not a good show, and they know it. Whether they were punished or not, they probably were punished. That’s probably why Triple H said those things because he is angry that we beat them,” Says Jericho.
“And he is probably angry that we exist. But you know, we don’t care about WWE, we care about our show, we care about putting on the best stories that we can put on, we care about building our fanbase and building our ratings.”
