Last year at the WrestleMania Backlash pay per view event, Cesaro challenged the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title. It was the main event of the night and without any doubt it was an amazing match.

This was Cesaro’s first opportunity for the world title in WWE in his long WWE career. Over the years he has been one of the most underrated athletes in WWE, and finally after getting the opportunities, he is showing the world of wrestling what he is actually capable of.

At WrestleMania Backlash 2021 Roman Reigns and Cesaro had a gruesome battle which continued for almost half an hour. This match had been considered as a Match of the Year Contender for 2021. What an amazing match it was! We rarely get to see technical masterpieces nowadays in WWE.

But after this match, for some reason WWE decided to bury him. The promotion completely gave up on his push and by the end of the year he got released from the promotion and a number of months ago he joined AEW and got renamed as Claudio Castagnoli. He defeated Jonathan Gresham to win his first ROH World Championship and he defeated Chris Jericho to win the second one.
