COVID-19 wave has hit the WWE for the third time in recent memory. WWE’s RETRIBUTION stable did earn a lot of attention, last week when they revealed new names and masks alongside their real identities.
However, they weren’t found anywhere to be around. Some people might think that it happened due to the lackluster storyline planning by the creative team but that wasn’t the case. They had to be absent in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
There was a recent COVID-19 outbreak in NXT. Those RETRIBUTION members were still around the NXT Superstars while being around the main roster which is why they had to be taken out. During Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer revealed that all five core members of the faction had to be quarantined for COVID-19 precautions as they’re in contact with other NXT talents.

Regarding RETRIBUTION not being cleared to compete at the moment, sources informed that all of those 5 members have tested negative for COVID-19. But since they’re in quarantine for two weeks, they can’t appear on TV. Thus, they had to miss out Monday Night Raw. WWE aired a vignette to make their presence felt while they also kept on posting on Twitter ranting on how they’d destroy the WWE.

As previously reported by several outlets, there was a COVID-19 outbreak in mainly WWE NXT and at the WWE Performance Center, last week. The outbreak forced to come up with some creative changes for both NXT and the main roster.
Talent and staff who were tested positive have been quarantined for 14 days while also receiving medical care. They will only be cleared when they test negative and won’t produce any symptoms. Also, backstage people who were in contact with individuals who have tested positive have been placed in a 14-day quarantine. They could only be cleared to compete after they test negative.

Wrestling Inc has informed that two RAW referees had to be in quarantine as a precautionary measure who missed this Monday’s RAW. Thus, the Smackdown referee Jessika Carr had to fill in for the show. The COVID-19 outbreak is also said to be the main reason why for the first time since early August, WWE had to cancel Raw Underground segments.
