Crown Jewel 2022 buildups started from this week’s as we have received two major announcements for the next WWE Network Specials. Apart from Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley II confirmation, it’s also been revealed on Raw that the two top factions from the roster will feature in a tag team match at the event.
WWE has confirmed that Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio) vs. The O.C. (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson) will go down at Crown Jewel 2022 in a six-man tag team match capacity. This match was expected to happen after the Gallows and Anderson returned to WWE during last week’s Raw to confront Judgment Day.

During this week’s WWE Raw, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had their first match since returning to WWE as they defeated Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) in a tag team match. Just as The Good Brothers tended to celebrate in the ring with AJ Styles, they were confronted by Judgment Day.

Judgment Day laid down a challenge to The O.C. for Crown Jewel 2022
Finn Balor, the original leader of The Bullet Club faction in NJPW, also featuring AJ Styles, Gallows and Anderson reminded that he “started this stupid little club” and “will break them” just because he can.
Judgment Day members would then go on to challenge The O.C. to a Six-Man Tag Team Match at the Crown Jewel 2022 premium live event. Styles immediately accepted the challenge and after some time, WWE also confirmed the match between the two groups in Saudi Arabia.
Interestingly, Karl Anderson is scheduled to defend his NEVER Openweight Title against Hikuleo at NJPW’s “Battle Autumn” show in Osaka on November 5, the same day as Crown Jewel 2022. After last night’s announcement, it’s possible that NJPW might push back the title match. The promotion is still advertising the match, as of this writing.
