A Steel Cage Match took place between Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) at Crown Jewel 2022. These two men have been involved in a feud on Smackdown for a long time. They squared off for the first time in a one-on-one capacity at Extreme Rules last month, in a Strap Match. Kross won that match due to interference from Scarlett as she pepper-spraying McIntyre in the eyes.
During the Crown Jewel 2022 match, Drew was about to escape through the door, but Scarlett used the same technique of pepper spraying again. However, Drew still managed to win the match as he escaped the cage by climbing the cage wall. Kross also got out through the structure through the door but Drew’s feet hit the floor first to emerge as the winner.

Following Crown Jewel 2022, it was reported that Drew was “extremely sick” during his steel cage match with Karrion Kross, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider. The source noted in the report that the top Smackdown Superstar had been sick with the flu over the last several days, but he was very adamant about heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and performing in his scheduled match.

Crown Jewel 2022 has ended a highly personal feud from Smackdown
As seen through social media pictures, last weekend, McIntyre was one of Sheamus’ groomsmen as the latter tied the knot to Isabella Revilla on October 28th, 2022 in New York City. Sheamus was written off WWE TV, following an attack from The Bloodline on the October 21 episode of SmackDown. That was the last time we also saw McIntyre on Smackdown TV.
It was on the same episode that the rematch between McIntyre and Kross at Crown Jewel 2022 was made official. It was McIntyre, who picked the Steel Cage stipulation as he wanted to punish Kross in an environment where he couldn’t escape.
The two have been feuding since Kross made his WWE return on the August 5 episode of SmackDown, during the post-Summerslam edition, and attacked McIntyre. After losing to Kross at Extreme Rules, McIntyre attacked Kross on the October 14 episode of SmackDown in the parking lot during the opening segment to seek redemption. Crown Jewel 2022 has perhaps marked the end of their rivalry.
