Liv Morgan happened to be the only superstar in the WWE and beyond to have defeated Ronda Rousey on two occasions. She looked forward to making the score 3-0 at the Extreme Rules 2022 premium live event. But then, in the end, she lost the bout and thereby became the only superstar to drop a title on that PPV night.
Alongside the grudge match between Bianca Belair and Bayley over the Raw Women’s Title in a Ladder Match, Liv Morgan defended the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules Match. Ultimately, Rousey walked away with the title, thereby ending the previous reign of The Miracle Kid after 98 days.

Following Extreme Rules 2022, reports claimed that Rousey was officially listed as a heel within WWE. In a follow-up from Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this long-planned heel-turn was the reason why Liv Morgan had to drop her title to Rousey. Winning back the title at Extreme Rules apparently put her back to the top heel position on the roster.

Liv Morgan teased a character change after losing her title
A similar change was noticed in the on-screen character of Liv Morgan, as well. During the final hour of the Extreme Rules Premium Live Event, she was spotted backstage via a WWE Digital Exclusive where interviewer Megan Morant approached for an interview as the WWE Superstar was hiding in a corner.
Megan asked Liv Morgan if she was alright and in response, the former champion only stared at her in frustration. Many believed that WWE teased a heel-turn with that segment that was followed up with another relatable segment on Smackdown where she put Sonya Deville through a table by delivering a senton. This move has become synonymous with the former member of the Riott Squad in recent times.
A few weeks ago, Liv Morgan showed that she’s ready for Extreme Rules by putting Lacey Evans through a table during an episode of Smackdown. Then during the title match, she connected with another Senton through a table but that wasn’t enough to keep Ronda Rousey down. The Baddest Woman on the Planet then trapped Liv in a submission hold as the latter passed out with a smile on her face.
