WWE Raw star and the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai who is also a former two times NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion recently talked about her current Women’s Tag Team title run with Iyo Sky and how their recent titles defenses came out to be.
Dakota Kai started her professional wrestling career in 2007 and she worked on the independent circuit of New Zealand and Australia. She came to America in 2013 and started working on the independent circuit of America. She and a lot of championships from all over the independent circuit throughout the world.
Dakota Kai Discusses Her Women’s Tag Team Title Run With Iyo Sky And Their Recent Title Defenses
In 2015 she made a number of jobber appearances in the NXT. In 2016 she got to participate in the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament where she got her first recognition from WWE. On the same year, she got her first professional contract from WWE and she started working on the NXT. She became pretty famous in the development Territory of WWE as she won the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship two times in total.
Earlier this year she got released from WWE without making a single main roster appearance. WWE released a lot of stars since last year because of their covid-19 budget cut. At SummerSlam she made a shocking return directly on to the main roster and teamed up with two more returning stars, Bayley and Iyo Sky. Currently she is holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship along with Iyo Sky.
Dakota Kai who is also a former two times NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion recently spoke to Die Woche where she talked about her current Women’s Tag Team title run with Iyo Sky and how their recent titles defenses came out to be. She said;
“Tegan [Nox] and I have a long history too. That’s actually someone that, with the question before, in terms of who you’d wanna go against again? Tegan is actually one of those names too. We’ve had such a history in NXT, you know? Going back and forth, I turned on her in WarGames.
“We had a Street Fight in Portland, a Cage match on NXT. So, I think for me, pinning Tegan [on SmackDown in the Women’s Tag Title match], I feel like that would set off a lot of things going forward, you know? I don’t think us going against each other is done.
“But I think if I pinned her, I think it might set a lot of things in motion going forward. I don’t know, I just got a feeling about it but yeah, she and I have a long history and I think it would be just like, you know, rub a little bit of the salt in the wounds of Tegan if I got to pin her.”
