Former WWE star and a former WWE Tag Team Champion Damien Sandow who is also the winner of the Money in the Bank 2013 recently looked back at his failed Money in the Bank cash in and revealed that he was told that he would be given the world title prior to his Money in the Bank win.
Damien Sandow is considered as one of the most talented stars of WWE of the last decade. He became mostly famous because of his excellent mic skill and mainly because of his stunt double persona, which made him a star overnight. He became one of the most popular stars of his time.

He won the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2013 and the way WWE was booking him, it looked like he was going to win the WWE World championship. But that did not happen, he failed to win the world title after he cashed in his contract over John Cena. After losing this opportunity, his main event push was gone for good.
Ultimately he became a jobber in WWE. In one of his jobber storylines, he was featured as the stunt double of The Miz. In spite of being a jobber storyline, he became extremely popular among the fans with this gimmick. There was a time when fans were literally spending money to Sandow only.

During this time, he was a popularly known as Damien Mizdow. In spite of being one of the most popular stars of WWE, the promotion did not push him. A lot of fans still believe that WWE did not want anyone to become more famous than Roman Reigns. In 2016 he was released by WWE and never return to the promotion ever again. Even though he is still active on the Independent circuit.
Damien Sandow who is also the winner of the Money in the Bank 2013 recently spoke to Steve Fall where he looked back at his failed Money in the Bank cash in and revealed that he was told that he would be given the world title prior to his Money in the Bank win. He said;

“It was said to me, but there are no promises. There are no guarantees. It’s one of those things where ‘it is what it is.’ You could dwell on the past or you can go forward.
“Behind the scenes yeah it could get to me, but as a perfomer, when I go out there. I don’t care what I did. If I have to dress as Davey Crockett, fine. I’ll find a way to get it over, and that’s one of the things I’ve always been able to bank on.”
