This week on WWE Smackdown Daniel Bryan will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in a title vs. career match.

This is not the first time WWE is organizing such a match, in most of the matches the title remains intact. In this case, things will not change much. It has been revealed much earlier that Bryan will not wrestle after WrestleMania 37 anymore. The story was covered by Sportzwiki too.

“Daniel Bryan Pushed Roman Reigns Too Far” – Says Paul Heyman

This must be the last match of Daniel Bryan before he takes leave. And the booked stipulation made it pretty much clear that a temporary retirement for Daniel Bryan is pretty much imminent.

Paul Heyman on the other hand, on this previous week’s WWE Talking Smack after Smackdown cut a kayfabe promo where he hyped this match in an excellent way. Heyman said;

“If Roman Reigns wins — and I assure you, he will win — that’s it for Daniel Bryan. He’s out of here. He’s not coming back, like the Midnight Rider.  He’s out. O-U-T. Gone! Banished from SmackDown. No more Daniel Bryan. No more Bryan Danielson. No more ‘American Dragon.’ No more Brie Bella’s baby daddy around here. Gone! Finished! Kaput! Out the damn window!

“In the history books. Someone to remember when you say, ‘Tell me something about Roman Reigns and the people he victimized. That he imposed his will on as The Tribal Chief.’ The end all be all, the reigning, defending, undisputed, controverted WWE Universal Champion. The head of the table!

“If you’re a fan of Daniel Bryan, I encourage you, I implore you to watch next Friday night, live on SmackDown. It’s the last chance you’re going to get to see Daniel Bryan in action. You pushed the Tribal Chief too far. Now — as you should have learned at WrestleMania — now come the consequences.”

A number of sources are claiming that Bryan will be going to Monday Night Raw after losing this match to Roman Reigns since he never wrestled at Raw after the brand split. But this did not have to be the way to send him to Raw, because this year’s Superstar Shakeup is edging near. He could easily go through the superstar shakeup. Such a booking was not needed at all.

After dealing with Bryan, who would Roman Reigns go on to feud with? There is no sign of Edge coming back to action soon. Maybe Cesaro and Seth Rollins would face Roman Reigns in a triple threat match for the WWE Universal Title in a triple threat match at WrestleMania Backlash.
