At WrestleMania 37, Roman Reigns defended his Universal title against Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match. The feud was pretty well built and all three men were excellently booked. It was pretty well balanced and everyone had been booked against each other in a very good way.

On this week’s Smackdown, neither Edge nor Daniel Bryan appeared as Roman Reign was seen having a tussle with Cesaro, which at the end turned into a different angle. The title feud between Reigns, Edge, and Bryan may continue but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Daniel Bryan To Have Singles Feud With Edge?

Daniel Bryan recently appeared on Inside The Ropes where he expressed his wish to feud with the eleven times world champion Edge. He said;

“Edge is somebody I’ve looked up to my entire career as somebody who is such an incredible performer. And I think the story of two guys who were both forced to retire kind of at their peaks – he had just retained the World Heavyweight Championship and was forced to retire. Now, we’re like 10 years on. I think there’s a really cool story there.

I got to wrestle him once for four minutes, and it’s a really funny story. It was the first time I used Flight of the Valkyries for WWE, but I didn’t know. Edge is already out there in the ring, and Miz is on commentary. Billy Kidman asked, ‘Bryan, do you have new music?’ I said I don’t know, and as soon as I said that, it hit.

It wasn’t the version you have now – a much lamer version. I was like, ‘Oh no,’ and all the crowd was like, ‘What is this?’ Edge was like, ‘What is this?’ And then Miz on commentary was like, ‘What on Earth is this?’”

There has been a wish floating around the WWE Universe that they want to Edge as a heel. Without any doubt Edge has been one of the best heels in WWE history and having him heel to face a babyface Daniel Bryan would something that could make the fans really happy.

But it is doubtful that Edge would turn heel at this stage of his career. And to be very frank, it would not set a good example either; a man coming out of retirement after nine years who battled a life-threatening injury is a bad guy; that would be a terrible example. But we hope Bryan’s wish comes true because it will be pretty fun to see.
