Former WWE star and the current Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Deonna Purrazzo who is the former two times Impact Knockouts champion recently talked about her current status in the wrestling world and how she always wanted to change women’s wrestling.
The former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deona Purrazzo is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Impact Wrestling right now. She joined Impact Wrestling almost a year ago and from the very first day, she has been treated like a big thing.
Deonna Purrazzo Always Wanted To Change Women’s Wrestling
Before joining the Impact Wrestling Deoanna Purrazzo had to struggle a lot. She had some forgettable runs in WWE, Ring of Honor, Ohio Valley Wrestling and the TNA wrestling as well. Purrazzo even featured on the main roster of WWE occasionally as well which is not known by most of the fans.
When Mickie James made her WWE return in 2017, she appeared under a mask for a number of weeks where she was known as the La Luchadora. It was not known to a lot of fans that during those weeks Deonna Purrazzo appeared as La Luchadora once which has never been mentioned on TV. She had a two year run in the NXT as well.
After leaving WWE she had shined a lot. She had been one of the faces of the Impact Wrestling with two Impact Knockouts Championship reigns. Her recent feud with Mickie James became really popular. She recently won the ROH Women’s Championship as well.
Recently she has made her debut in the All Elite Wrestling AEW Dynamite as well. Looking at her immense success in the Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor, it is being believed that she will be success in the AEW as well. Recently, she won the Impact Women’s Tag Team Championship with Chelsea Green but they dropped the titles to The Death Dollz in October.
Deonna Purrazzo who is the former two times Impact Knockouts champion recently spoke to PW Mania where she talked about her current status in the wrestling world and how she always wanted to change women’s wrestling. She said;
“For me, it was always my goal to change women’s wrestling. There are not very many firsts left. To be the first-ever, and only, Iron Women in Impact Wrestling is special, and history-making. That’s what everyone’s goal should be. You don’t get into something to be mediocre at it.
“You want to be the best, you want to be the champion, and make history. I wanted to do that from a young age. To be in a position after years, and years of struggle, to come into Impact Wrestling and win the Knockouts World Championship and become the first-ever Iron Women at Impact, and to just make all this history and ground-breaking moments, lit a fire under all of our butts.
“All of the Knockouts saw that we were getting all these first-ever moments, like the first-ever Ironman match, the first-ever Ultimate-X match, Mickie James, and I main event a pay-per-view which was another first-ever moment. It really showed the world that there’s still a lot of work to be done and a lot of history for the Knockouts to participate in and make.”
