It has been almost two years since WWE successfully released Ethan Carter 3 after completely burying him. This has been one of the worst burials in the history of WWE so far. Ethan Carter 3 started his WWE career way back in 2009 under the ring name of Derrick Bateman. He was getting training at Florida Championship Wrestling which was WWE’s development territory back then. He also appeared as an NXT trainee when NXT used to be a talent hunt program like WWE Tough Enough.
WWE released Ethan Carter 3 in 2013 and he went to Impact Wrestling where he earned some fame. He also wrestled in various Independent promotions on a parallel note. After achieving so much fame he got the major call from WWE and he joined NXT. Everybody thought WWE is planning to give him a huge boost because he started his career with them, something similar to the treatment Drew McIntyre receiving right now.

Did Ethan Carter 3 Recover From WWE Burial?
But that did not happen. Ethan Carter 3 buried badly. When it finally looked like he might be getting at least a mid-card push all hopes were shattered completely when he faced Dean Ambrose two weeks before Ambrose’s final departure from the company. Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer took on this matter in an angry tone;
“The very next week or the week after they beat EC3 with a guy that was leaving the company. That’s 100% what happened. It’s ridiculous.”

“So to them, after a guy that has one TV match that was two and a half minutes and he’s not getting cheered at the house shows, to then give up on him, that’s insanity, but that in fact, is exactly what they did.”
The burial of Ethan Carter 3 was so horrendous that he could never recover from it. He gave a try back in Impact Wrestling but as WWE made a complete joke out of him, he could not achieve what he did in his previous Impact Wrestling run. Right now he is trying to get some spotlights back after joining the mother promotion to so many huge names in wrestling nowadays; The Ring of Honor.

EC3 has also appeared on the Independent Circuit arenas a couple of times, but it is pretty unfortunate to say, his career has been terribly hurt by WWE that it will not be very easy to get back to his normal days very soon. But we hope he will soon achieve what he actually deserves.
