Renee Young was touted to be the greatest female professional wrestling journalist during her active tenure with the WWE. She started with zero knowledge about the industry and spent almost nine years with the company wearing different hats.
Starting with 2012, WWE mainly used Renee Young as the backstage interviewer before moving her to PPV kick-off panels and then to the Raw commentary panel. She is the first and only woman in WWE Raw history to call out the actions which was a tremendous accolade.

“I’ve never had any actual conversations with Tony [Khan],” Renee Young stated during Starrcast media scrums after getting asked whether she’s have any talks to move in.
“I’ve not had any conversations with anybody there about stepping in and doing that … There is one thing that I definitely learned and that’s that I don’t love calling matches … Maybe it’s conducting interviews, maybe it’s finding some other kind of shows or some other kind of thing there, but I don’t know, maybe.” (Quotes courtesy Wrestling Inc)
Tony Khan has recently bought the Ring of Honor promotion alongside acquiring many former WWE talents such as Bryan Danielson, Paul Wight, Mark Henry, Ruby Soho, and Renee Young’s husband and the current AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose in the WWE).
Since leaving the WWE in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020, Renee Young has been rumored to join the AEW but she seemed contended with outside ventures namely publishing her own cookbook or starting a podcast. She has not turned down the idea of a making return to pro wrestling but that may not be happening, anytime soon.
