The division of the divas in world wrestling entertainment is not the same anymore. There was a time when divas used to feature in some tremendous feuds and storylines and sometimes, in the main events too. Stephanie McMahon and Lita featured on the main event of Raw on August 21, 2000. And Lita also featured in a Monday night Raw main event against Trish Stratus on December 6, 2004. The women’s championship was on the line in both matches. But that was a long ago. You can’t dare to think about a divas match on the main event. Nowadays, divas like Kelly Kelly and the Bella Twins can even snatch the championship gold. WWE has released most of their good divas like Victoria, Mickie James, of course Serena Deeb, she was one of my personal favorites. Beth Phoenix is also history. The division of the divas has to improve. We have shared an article before about how to improve the division of the divas. We hope it would improve and will regain its lost days. In this series of articles, we will discuss about the best divas of the last decade. In the first part of this series, we will talk about the former three times World Wrestling Entertainment women’s champion Jacqueline.
Lisa Mari Moretti started her professional wrestling career in 1986 under the newly promotion Georgia Ladies of Wrestling where she worked under the ring name of Tina Ferrari. She achieved the GLOW championship once and the GLOW tag team championship once. She spent thirteen years with this promotion. The promotion itself got defunct after fifteen years.
In January, 1999, Moretti debuted to World Wrestling Federation. Her first appearance was as a Ho for the Godfather. She had a good storyline with Mark Henry too in her early days in WWF. She worked as the valet for mark Henry and D Lo Brown. She won her first WWF Women’s championship on June 8, 1999 after she defeated Debra for the championship.
Moretti turned heel in 2000 when she joined the heel stable called Right to Censor. On October 31, 2000, she defeated Lita, Jacqueline and Trish Stratus in a fatal four way diva match to accomplish her third Women’s championship gold. Her storyline and feud with Chyna in late 2000 and early 2001 got high recognition and it is considered as one of the best storyline involvements of her career.
Moretti turned babyface again in 2003, and had some good feuds with Trish Stratus, Victoria, Jazz and Molly Holly. But she never got the push she deserved after the end of the attitude era.
Moretti worked as a trainer at Ohio Valley Wrestling which is a territory under WWE. She also hosted The Experience which was a show of WWE. In August, 2005 she declined to renew her contract with WWE and deprated.
Moretti joined the promotion of Women Superstars Uncensored where she made some sporadic appearances. She officially retired from professional wrestling 2006.
