Dominik’s name was even involved at a part of the storyline, it was famously known as ‘The Custody of Dominik.’ At Summerslam 2005, Rey and Eddie fought in a ladder match where the custody of Dominik was the prize of the match. It was ultimately won by Rey Mysterio.

Dominik made his wrestling debut in WWE back in 2020 when he fought Seth Rollins in a Street Fight at Summerslam of the mentioned year. It was, however, the defeat for Dominik but he made a mark and it was quite confirmed that he was not here just to be another jobber.

He is currently teamed up with his father and he has already won the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship one time with his father. They are the first ever father-son tag team champions in the history of WWE. Recently, the duo moved to Monday Night RAW.

Dominik Mysterio who is a former one time Smackdown Tag Team Champion recently spoke on Out of Character with Ryan Satin where he talked about his desire to wear the mask of Rey Mysterio after the retirement of the former three times WWE World Champion. He said;

“Most definitely.  I think the long goal here, the endgame, is to eventually take over the Rey Mysterio name.  That’s the legacy within it.  He’s Rey Mysterio.  It’s only right to make a Jr.  Traditionally in Lucha culture, and in Hispanic culture, that’s tradition.

“That’s what you do.  I kind of just showed up and Dom Mysterio organically happened.  Everything happened so fast.  We didn’t really get a chance to put these little things together, but we definitely have talked about it.

“He’s mentioned before that the mask is something I have to earn along with the name.  If one day he wants to pass it on to me after he retires, or he wants to make me earn it after he retires or something, whatever it is, I’m up for it.

“I know that name belongs to me and it’s only right.  Hispanically, culturally, it’s only right, but whatever he wants at the end of the day because he’s the one that made it what it is.  I’ll respect his decision whatever it is.”
