Last night at the NXT, ‘The Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio challenged Wes Lee for the NXT North American Championship. This was the main event of the night and Dominik shocked the entire world when he defeated Wes Lee and won the NXT North American Championship.
Not only this was Dominik Mysterio’s first singles title win, this can also help him to build himself as one of the top stars of WWE. It has been reported several times WWE has big plans for the only son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and his big match against his father was the vantage point to begin it.

The star he defeated to win the title was also doing excellent as the champion. Wes Lee held this prestigious title for a record number of 269 days. This was the longest NXT North American title reign in WWE history so we can definitely say that ‘Dirty’ Dom has created history tonight.
Recently, a lot of main roster stars are working frequently in the NXT. We also saw World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defending his title against former two times NXT Champion Bron Breakker. Dominik did not transition to the NXT, but as the NXT North American Champion, we can expect him to work in both main roster and the NXT.
Dominik Mysterio Won The NXT North American Championship At NXT Last Tuesday
After winning the NXT title he spoke backstage in the NXT for the first time following his big title win. His ‘mami’ Rhea Ripley also made comments on Dominik’s big title win. Both of them got interviewed backstage together and here is exactly what the duo from Judgment Day had to say;
Rhea Ripley on Dominik’s win: “You’re talking to greatness here. You’re talking to my Latino heat, ‘Dirty’ Dom himself. He’s already surpassed his father, deadbeat dad, and he’s just gonna growing, and growing, and growing, and he’s gonna take over this business.”
Dominik Mysterio on what’s next for him: “Thank you Mami. You’re definitely correct about all that, and now that I can actually speak and not get interrupted by a bunch of deadbeats and has-beens or whatever’s out there, I am the new NXT North American Champion, and now that I think about it, I’m 2-0 here in NXT. Your boy ‘Dirty Dom’ is undefeated, and with the Judgment Day and Mami by my side, it looks like it’s gonna stay that way.”
