The next big event from AEW promotion is going to be the annual Double or Nothing 2022 pay-per-view event, later this month. Following the confirmation of the AEW World Title match, now the women’s world title match has also been finalized.
AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa has officially received a challenger for her title at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. Serena Deeb has earned the spot of the number-one contender by defeating Hikaru Shida in last week’s Philly street fight.

During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the two competitors came face to face and then exchanged some words after the match was officially announced for Double or Nothing 2022. According to the champion, in the early parts of her career, she would travel to the West Coastline so she could see Deeb wrestle.
“It’s been a long time, huh?” Deeb asked Rosa. “And I’ve watched you scratch and claw your way all the way to the top, and you earned exactly where you stand right now. So I respect you, I’ve got respect for you. And you know what? I truly believe that we can make this the best women’s division in the entire world.”
“I totally agree with that, Serena,” Rosa said.

AEW Dynamite set up Double or Nothing 2022 title match
“Okay, sure, you’re the champion. That suggests that you’re the best, but Rosa, let’s be very real. It’s what everybody is thinking, it’s what everybody knows but don’t want to say. Everybody here knows it deep down, everybody in the back knows it, every wrestler knows it, every coach knows it. I’m on another level! I am in a class all my own, and it’s about time that I had the championship to show that.” Deeb sent a warning to Rosa for Double or Nothing 2022.
These two wrestlers do have a history together in and out of the AEW programming. They have faced each other on AEW Dynamite in the past where the current AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa picking up the victory in October 2020. Plus, they have also wrestled each other around the independent circuit. Now they will lock horns in a PPV event for the first time at AEW Double or Nothing 2022.
Thunder Rosa won the AEW Women’s World Title back at March during an episode of Dynamite in her hometown from Dr. Britt Baker. Double or Nothing 2022 will mark the second title defense following her title win in March.
