There have been speculations around Drew McIntyre’s future with the WWE since late 2023, as reports indicated his contract is set to expire in early 2024. Despite his strong status on the Raw roster, the time is ticking down on his contract, which is unimaginable for WWE fans.

The significant part is that Drew McIntyre is booked in one of the major championship matches on the Wrestlemania XL card while WWE has yet to sign him into a new deal with the company. The current belief is that something will eventually be worked out between the two parties, but the situation has yet to be worked out.

Addressing the uncertainty around his contract, Drew McIntyre revealed on The Ringer’s Masked Men Show that he wasn’t going to say anything. However, he did mention that he wanted to have some fun around this scenario and that the fans would not stop seeing him competing inside the squared circle,

“It’s very important to me, having a new contract. It’s been talked about for a very long time on the internet. I’m not the only one whose contract comes up every few years or whatever, but you would think it, reading the internet. There is nothing I can say right now. I can say that I’m having fun. I can say that I intend to continue having fun and I’m in my prime.”

Drew McIntyre hinted at bringing back his old version

Interestingly, Drew McIntyre also mentioned that it’s not essential that fans would continue to see him compete in the WWE in his current avatar. But he could bring back the old Drew Galloway version if he does have to get out of the WWE scene at some point.

As mentioned above, Drew McIntyre is set to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. With betting odds suggesting that he would win the match, the top star of the WWE signing a new WWE deal won’t be a surprise.

Amid speculations about Drew McIntyre’s contract, WWE has reportedly extended it to an unknown extent that will take him through the Wrestlemania season. However, there are no new updates on how long the former WWE Champion will stick to the company.
