Former two times WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently compared his Royal Rumble victory with 2018 feature film A Star Is Born. It was a critically acclaimed film which received so many awards.

2020 was the year of Drew McIntyre. He was reaching the sky at that time. One who did not watch his progress last year would not believe he is the same guy right now who is receiving nothing but a mid card treatment. The man who dominated the entire roster of WWE last year is Losing to almost everyone in WWE. This is really a very poor piece of booking, we must say. To promote someone, it is not necessary to make the other one job.

Royal Rumble – Drew McIntyre Compares His Royal Rumble 2020 Win With The Film “A Star Is Born”

If we look at the attitude era, the time that produced most big names of WWE, no big name had to job to anyone at that time. Still we have seen new stars kept on rising. But now it is pretty common for some main events are to become jobber instantly.

Last year Drew McIntyre completely dominated the Royal Rumble match, tab match which was previously dominated by Brock Lesnar. Drew entered the ring and eliminated Lesnar. He even defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 and it was a pretty dominant victory.

Throughout the year, Drew kept on dominating everyone who came in his path. But after he dropped the title at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, he was never given his momentum back. He jobbed to Bobby Lashley at that time, he then jobbed to Big E as well. He needs some big non title feud wins to gain his lost momentum back. He started his SmackDown career with a victory over Sami Zayn, hopefully he would receive a better treatment at Friday Night Smackdown.

Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke to St. Louis Post-Dispatch where he compared his Royal Rumble victory with 2018 feature film A Star Is Born. It was a critically acclaimed film which received so many awards. He said;

“If you remember that scene in ‘A Star Is Born,’ [Lady Gaga] had this moment at the side of the stage, thinking, ‘That’s my song. It’s now or never. Am I going to do this?’ That’s how I felt backstage as I was waiting for the music to hit. I was like, ‘This is the moment.’ Boom, the music hit, and I marched into the ring with all the intensity I’ve ever had in my entire life, ready to beat up Brock.

“Three hundred days I was champion, collectively, and I don’t understand what it’s like because there was nobody there when I became champion. I’m very proud of everything that I did during those times; we needed somebody to step up and be the leader. I’m very proud it was me, but I’m still chasing that moment.”
