Since the arrival on Smackdown during WWE Draft 2021, Drew McIntyre has been rumored to have a feud with the ruler of the brand, Roman Reigns. The top babyface of the WWE going up against the top heel of the company will certainly bring up the vibes of Stone Cold vs. The Rock from the Attitude Era days. These two have previously been involved in a feud but the dynamic has changed since then.
Roman Reigns has been the Universal Champion since Payback 2020 who has also crossed 400-days as the champion. Moving on, he has a beast waiting for him at WWE Crown Jewel for the title. If he can go through that title defense then Drew McIntyre is the rumored name to go up against him in the near future. As we can expect a mammoth collision is waiting in the future, the potential challenge for the title noted on the champion.
Top 10 WWE Superstars With Most Number Of PPV Appearances
One of the newest members of WWE SmackDown Drew McIntyre, recently spoke with DAZN to bring up the unfinished business with WWE’s Tribal Chief. The Scottish Psychopath specifically focused on the topic that he’s thrilled to be drafted to a show where he can collide against Roman Reigns. Moving a step further, he also addressed Reigns as “The Final Boss” in WWE.
“I have unfinished business in a lot of ways, just from a career perspective and things not working out when I was a kid on SmackDown,” Drew McIntyre explained. “But at the same time, there’s unfinished business there with Roman, 100 percent. In WWE, he’s the final boss and I’m excited when the time comes for that story. Maybe it’s not right now, perhaps it’s the future. But when it happens, it’s going to be big.”
Drew McIntyre revealed the ‘money match’ in WWE
The unfinished business Drew McIntyre is talking about is a rematch against Reigns from last year’s Survivor Series. We have seen these two squaring off in a Champion vs. Champion affair in which Reigns cheated his way to the victory. Since then, the two-time WWE Champion is waiting to cross paths with the Head of the Table.
When asked about a future match or the “biggest money match” in WWE for him, Drew McIntyre obviously picked a match with Roman. He believes that the feud against Randy Orton elevated him to be a top superstar and a full-fledged program with Reigns can move him back to the top spot.
“Personally and professionally, 100% [the biggest money match is against Roman]. He already was the top dog, the big dog, and now his evolution over the past year, he’s operating at a different level. He’s been unbelievable as a character in the ring and every aspect, and I want to be able to step up to that level and I want to be able to put him down.”
At present, Drew McIntyre is scheduled to challenge Big E for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel on Thursday, October 21 from The Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
