Former two time WWE champion Drew McIntyre recently said that he has to win the Money in the Bank ladder match. The Scottish psychopath is one of the eight wrestlers who would be battling for the Money in the Bank ladder match in the Money in the Bank pay per view event this Sunday.
Drew McIntyre is going through a very tough time right now. The man who defeated Brock Lesnar clean last year at Wrestlemania suddenly he lost his push. Now he is losing to Matt Riddle clean. No doubt he is still a main eventer in WWE, but he is far from the WWE title picture right now.
Drew McIntyre Says He Has To Win Money In The Bank
He actually lost his push during he was putting over Bobby Lashley. It is rumoured that he put over Bobby Lashley so that Bobby could have a decent feud with Brock Lesnar and to build Bobby as a worthy opponent for the Beast Incarnate.
But the way the Money in the Bank ladder match of this year is built, it does not seem like Drew McIntyre is going to win the match. He had to have two opportunities to qualify for Money in the Bank ladder match. But it is also important for him to win this match in order to regain his lost push.
Recently, Drew McIntyre spoke to TV Insider where he said that he has to win the Money in the Bank ladder match this Sunday and why it is really important for him to win this match. He said;
“It still feels weird to not be a champion. I won it in front of nobody, going from no fans to virtual fans in the ThunderDome. To represent the company in those difficult times in the last year was great, but the goal was to walk out there as the WWE champion in front of fans.
“To lose it right at the finish line before WrestleMania definitely showed another side of my character and how he dealt with adversity. It made me more relatable. Money in the Bank and the ladder match are my very last opportunity. I have to win, or I don’t know what will happen next for Drew McIntrye.”
