Former two times WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre who is also a former two time WWE Tag Team Champion and a former WWE NXT Champion recently talked about his desire to have a match with the Swiss Superman Cesaro.
Cesaro and Drew McIntyre had some showdowns before. The mostly took place on episodes of Monday Night RAW. But in most cases, Cesaro played the role of a jobber. Both wrestlers are capable of producing brilliant matches.
Drew McIntyre Wants A Match Against Cesaro
If booked well, these two individuals can produce main event level matches quite easily. And this much is very much possible right now since both of the individuals are working on Friday night Smackdown at this moment. So we can see this match getting book any time.
But it is quite unfortunate that Cesaro is not being treated as a main event star anymore. He was given a main event level push during and just after Wrestlemania this year. At WrestleMania 37 he defeated Seth Rollins which was a huge accomplishment for him.
And the more important thing is it was a clean victory. After that everyone was expecting a main event level push for the Swiss Superman. And that occurred just at the next event which was WrestleMania Backlash where he challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship.
But unfortunately he lost the match and that was the end of his main event push. After that he remained out of action for quite a while and now he is once again being treated as a lower mid card and he is jobbing to the newly promoted star Ridge Holland which is not a very good look for the former WWE United States champion.
WWE has decided to push Cesaro foreign number of times but every time it did not work out for some reasons. So we cannot expect a WrestleMania standard match between him Drew at this moment.
Drew McIntyre who is also a former two time WWE Tag Team Champion and a former WWE NXT Champion recently spoke to Bleacher Report where he talked about his desire to have a match with the Swiss Superman Cesaro. He said;
“Oh yeah, [Cesaro] is definitely on my list. I have to mention him any chance I get and the fact we haven’t faced each other considering we’ve been on the same rosters over the years. We’ve both wrestled 20 years apiece. We’ve never had a singles match, which is pretty unbelievable.
“I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter on my social media that he also brought it up this week, so I think it’s only a matter of time before that match happens.”
