WWE star and a former two times WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently talked about his desire to dethrone Roman Reigns at the upcoming WWE pay per view event that is going to take place at UK. He also talked about a potential match up with Tyson Fury.
Drew McIntyre is currently the only hope to be a worthy the opponent for the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns who had been simply unstoppable since winning the WWE Universal Championship in 2020. He has beaten everyone that came into his way since. He has also been undefeated.
Drew McIntyre Wants To Dethrone Roman Reigns
The way WWE booked Roman Reigns is quite abnormal. They did not build any other main event star apart from him who could be a worthy opponent of him. The only rival Roman had was Brock Lesnar who had also been decimated at WrestleMania 38. So there is literally no one who could be a worthy opponent of Roman right now.
There was a chance of building parallel main event stars as long as there was the WWE championship. But at WrestleMania 38, WWE decided to unify the two World championships of WWE just to show Roman Reigns even more stronger. But in obsession of Roman Reigns, Vince McMahon is killing his own promotion.
The only remaining hope in the roster of WWE is Drew McIntyre. Even though, Drew could never beat Roman in the past. Every time these to athletes went one on one, Roman came out with the victory. But Drew had a good build over all since losing the WWE championship to Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 37. We can still hope for a victory for him in their upcoming clash.
Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke to Sports Illustrated where he talked about his desire to dethrone Roman Reigns at the upcoming WWE pay per view event that is going to take place at UK. He also talked about a potential match up with Tyson Fury. He said;
“I’m a two-time WWE champion, but I never won the title in front of our fans. My dream situation is fighting for the title against Roman at the UK show. There is going to be such intense anticipation for that event. That would be a match, atmosphere-wise, that people would always remember.
“If Tyson Fury steps back into the WWE ring, it’s not going to be as easy as he thinks,” McIntyre says. “He showed last time in his match against Braun that he’s capable. No doubt, he’s an entertainer. But if he steps into the ring against me, he’s in for something he’s never experienced before.”
