Being a top superstar of the WWE, Drew McIntyre also wants to compete in a mage match on that night and he chooses the former franchise player of the company. While speaking in a T-Mobile Center video, the Scottish Warrior stated that he would like to see Roman Reigns take on The Rock at WrestleMania 39 while he wants to compete in a singles contest against John Cena at the event as the duo could tell a great story.
“But if we’re going Hollywood, Rock would be the obvious choice [as a dream opponent], but I kind of want to see Rock and Roman, so I’ll take Cena since he’s kind of gone Hollywood. It would be a great story [Cena challenging for his 17th World Championship]. Absolutely, I like it.”
Since Wrestlemania 39 is still a long way to go, we’ll have to wait and see whether WWE considers this match to take place on that night. Previously, Drew McIntyre and John Cena have been featured in a multi-person match but they are yet to collide in a one-on-one capacity. McIntyre is specifically interested in this bout since he knows how this can change his wrestling career.
