WWE star and a former two times WWE world champion Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently said that he believed WWE should have different world Champions for both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown.
The concept of having two different brands and two different World Championships is not new. WWE came up with the idea back in 2001 for the first time after they purchased WCW. The original plan was to run WCW as a parallel brand to WWE. But things did not go out pretty well and WWE scrapped the decision for something else.

Drew McIntyre Believes There Should Be A World Champion For Each WWE Brand
They started to run WWE RAW and Smackdown as two different brands from 2002 with two different rosters. This was the first time any major professional wrestling company did something like this. The idea was a big hit and back in the time it was really fun to see two different rosters in one particular promotion.
It was more fun when the brand warfare angle started. But after running two different brands for over a decade WWE decided to drop the idea. But they came back with it in 2016 once again. This time it was a big time failure as in this time WWE was focusing on making more money rather than producing good shows.

Seeing two different World champions was a treat for the eyes. It had the scope of building more main event stars. But recently WWE is having a terrible obsession with Roman Reigns. In this obsession they are failing to promote new stars. Recently they have decided to unify to up their World championships. We are quite sure that the brand extension is coming to an end soon as well.
Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke to WrestleRant where he said that he believed WWE should have different world Champions for both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown. He said;

“I mean just for the roster it’s been separated. I think each show should have its own champion. I know, say like 20 years ago, whatever it was the same champion they traveled to the shows. But it was also the same roster.
“Right now, it’s because of what happened at WrestleMania I know the build to Mania was for this gigantic match with Roman vs. Brock. It was two champions facing off with each… the two top champions facing off with each other.”
