Former two times WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre is absent from WWE Television his defeat at WrestleMania 39. He challenged Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the Grandest Stage of them all, and he lost. Sheamus was also a part of this triple threat match but Gunther pinned Drew to win this match.

Since then, the Scottish Psychopath did not appear in any WWE show and there is no confirmation on why he is absent from television. Fans already started to believe in the theory that the 37 year old is unhappy with the way he was treated in WWE, and he wanted to leave the promotion. There were even rumours that he would possibly join AEW.

Drew McIntyre Is Rumored To Turn Heel On Seth Rollins To Challenge For The World Heavyweight Title

Finally, Dave Meltzer reported on this matter in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter by writing;

“At this point, McIntyre’s return is basically more a creative issue regarding what they want, what he wants, and when they agree to it. Regarding the potential of his leaving, the time he has been out of action can be used to freeze and extend his contract if WWE so desires.

“WWE in the past has done that with numerous wrestlers who had expressed wanting to leave. It should be noted that McIntyre to the best of our knowledge has not asked to leave but they have not agreed to a new deal. But there is an obvious spot for him as a heel challenging Rollins.”

This had been a big theory that Drew McIntyre turn heel after a long time as he would be challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Fans are eagerly waiting for this dream feud as Drew turning heel on Seth Rollins would definitely be a dream come true moment.
