WWE’s Scottish Psychopath Drew McIntyre remained out of action for three long months after his defeat by the hands of Gunther at WrestleMania 39. Fans and media sources shared many theories about this absence. There were even reports that McIntyre was not happy with the way he was treated recently.

But it never seemed like there was any kind of serious concern about his absence since WWE kept on mentioning him on Live Television. For example, he was drafted on Monday Night RAW on WWE Draft 2023 which took place in late April and early May. It made fans believe that sooner or later, the Scottish Warrior would return to television.

The wait finally came to an end when the former two times WWE World Champion made his return at Money in the Bank and sought revenge against The WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther. He grounded him with the Claymore and posed with the Intercontinental Championship clarifying his intentions.

Most of the fans were expecting to see him competing for the new World Heavyweight Championship. There were even beliefs that he would turn heel before or after winning the World Heavyweight Championship. But as he came to compete for the IC title, it made a lot of fans a little disappointed.

Drew McIntyre Returned On Money In The Bank

Triple H clarified recently that McIntyre did not have creative issues and he was just out of action since he had to recover from an injury. McIntyre finally opened up about this long absence when he recently spoke on WWE’s The Bump. Here is what the former two times World Champion had to reveal;

“I just want to apologize for everybody — that I missed my dates, I missed the towns. You know it’s not like me unless there’s a reason.” Said the former WWE Intercontinental Champion.

“Obviously, the rumor and innuendo is out there. What’s going on with Drew McIntyre? What’s going on with the future? The future doesn’t matter. What matters is the present, and presently Drew McIntyre is back.

“And if you’re heading to a WWE show, and Drew McIntyre’s there you know you’re gonna get 110%. And finally, finally, finally I’m chasing that big moment with a title in front of live fans. So let’s make that happen finally.” Concluded the former two times WWE World Champion.

It is also reported earlier by PWInsider Elite (via Wrestlingnews.co) that McIntyre might have returned to action but he did not extend his contract yet and his current contract is still set to expire on early 2024. We still hope to see him on the main events soon after he extends his contract.
