Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Edge who is a former eleven WWE World Champion recently talked about teaming up with his wife Beth Phoenix at Royal Rumble against the “It Couple” of WWE The Miz and Maryse.
As mentioned above, Edge is going to team up with his wife Beth Phoenix to challenge The Miz and Maryse at the Royal Rumble pay per view event in a mix tag team match. The match is a huge attraction for a lot of fans because this is the first time Copeland is teaming up with his wife on screen.
Edge Comments On Teaming Up With Beth Phoenix
About Miz and Maryse, this is not the first time they are teaming up for a mixed tag team match. At WrestleMania 33 they teamed up for a mixed tag team match against John Cena and Nikki Bella. Even though they lost the match but their Fame as a couple never decreased.
Miz and Maryse was so famous as a couple that they got their own television show called The Miz and Mrs. The show is running for a number of years and it is quite successful that it gets renewed every year. They are definitely worthy of being called the It Couple of WWE.
This mixed tag team match was first rumoured for WrestleMania 38. But later WWE decided to organise it quite early, and the venue was later set as the Royal Rumble which itself is a quite popular event. Not a lot of fans are expecting a classic match but definitely it is going to be entertaining.
The future of the feud after Royal Rumble has not been discussed yet. There is no concrete rumour either. But there is a rumour that suggests that WWE is planning to continue this feud till WrestleMania 38. It would be better if WWE organised one on one matches between Edge & Miz and Beth Phoenix & Maryse.
Edge who is a former eleven WWE World Champion recently spoke to Sports Illustrated where he talked about teaming up with his wife Beth Phoenix at Royal Rumble against the “It Couple” WWE The Miz and Maryse. He said;
“We never thought this would be a possibility. I was forced to retire [in 2011]. A year later, Beth retired. Then we started having kids. Coming back to wrestling was never on the docket for me, let alone come back and be asked, ‘What do you think about teaming together for a month?’ We’re having so much fun. Riding together, flying together. That’s the only part of the job that can be unenjoyable at times, but when you have your best friend next to you, it’s a lot more fun.
“It’s so unexpected. I had no inkling that it would ever happen, and we’re just having so much fun. I think that shows. We have two opponents like Mike and Maryse who are fully committed to being heels. That just makes everything so easy. I can’t wait. The Rumble is going to be so much fun.
