Former eleven times World Champion Edge recently commented on his return matches with his former tag team partner Randy Orton from last year. Edge made his long awaited return to professional wrestling last year and Had a Feud with Randy Orton.
Edge was sidelined by a deadly injury for nearly nine years. He even took retirement from Professional wrestling. It was heartbreaking for the wrestling fans to see their hero retiring at such a young age. But he shocked the world by making his in ring return last year in the Royal Rumble match as a surprise entrant.
Edge on His Return matches Against Randy Orton
Soon after making his return he started feuding with his former Tag Team partner Randy Orton. The feud went on to WrestleMania 36 as the two former Tag Team partners wrestled each other in a Last Man Standing match. It was also the longest match of the show.
The feud did not end there as the two former world champions what each other once again during the Backlash pay per view event. But the rated R superstar pickup and injury and it sidelined him again for months. He appeared on the Royal Rumble match on this year as the number one entrant and he won the Rumble match.
“After not wrestling for nearly nine years, my first two matches were something like 36 minutes and 44 minutes. Maybe that was biting off a little more than I could chew. My body responded by saying, ‘Hey dumbass, what are you doing?’
“There was a lot of pressure with that match. You need an audience in a big arena for a match like that, which we obviously didn’t have. We were the guinea pigs for piped-in sound, and that was another hurdle. Looking back, especially considering the circumstances, I am very proud of that match.”
