WWE Hall of Famer and a former eleven times WWE world champion Edge recently remembered his hair vs hair match against Kurt Angle from the WWE Judgement Day pay per view event from the year 2002.
It has almost been two decades since the match took place. WWE set their mind to push Edge as a solo star since 2001 after seeing his excellent work rate during his Tag Team works along with Christian. But things were not working properly for the Rated R Superstar.
Edge Remembers His Hair Vs. Hair Match Against Kurt Angle
He First won the King of the Ring tournament in 2001. Then their Tag Team broken as Christian betrayed him. The hair vs. hair match was a huge win for him. But still, he could not get the ultimate push. Kurt Angle on the other hand cap feuding for the WWE championship and main evented the very next WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar.
It took three more years for Edge the ultimate push from WWE. He won the first ever money in the bank ladder match at WrestleMania 21. And the run of the Rated R superstar never stopped after that. He went on to become one of the biggest names not only in WWE but in professional wrestling history.
the Rated R superstar recentlymade an appearance on Kurt Angle’s podcast where he remembered his hair vs hair match against Kurt Angle from the WWE Judgement 2002. He said;
“Shane (McMahon) all day was trying to convince me that I was getting my head shaved. He will, to this day, say that I bought it.
“Now, there might have been a percentage of me that was, ‘This is Vince and these guys. You never know. There is that possibility, but I don’t think so.’ It goes to show how much has changed. I didn’t find out what they actually wanted until 4 in the afternoon.”
