Former WWE star and a former WWE NXT star Enzo Amore who was also a former two times WWE Cruiserweight champion recently talked about appearing among the Survivor Series crowd back in 2018 after a few months of his WWE release.
Enzo Amore was signed by WWE back in 2012 and he had no prior wrestling experience before signing with WWE. He spent a number of months at the performance Centre before joining WWE NXT back in 2013 and he teamed up with Collin Cassidy. Together they were famously known as Enzo and Cass.
Enzo Amore Remembers Appearing At Survivor Series Crowd After His WWE Release
Enzo did not have very good professional wrestling skills but he had amazing mic skills that made him a big star and a big hit among the fans. He had his own catchphrase which was pretty popular among the fans. Enzo and Cass worked as a tag team for around four years. They became quite successful as a tag team but they could never win any Tag Team Championship in WWE.
In 2017 the duo split up and they started working solo. Enzo went to the newly resurrected Cruiserweight division of WWE and he went on to win the Cruiserweight Championship two times in total. In 2018 he was released from WWE after Nia Jax made some allegations against him. Right now he is present on the independent circuit, he also worked in a couple of different professional wrestling promotions.
Enzo Amore who was also a former two times WWE Cruiserweight champion recently spoke On the DDP Snake Pit podcast where he talked about appearing among the Survivor Series crowd back in 2018 after a few months of his WWE release. He said;
“I was told by my advisors, ‘Don’t do that. Do not buy a ticket to Survivor Series, put on a wig, show up in the second row and stand up on your seat. You’re an idiot.’ I said, ‘Look, I’m really not trying to go back. I’m trying to make a name for myself, but I still want to wrestle and I want to create a character that’s off his hinges that people will watch.”
“So I go to Survivor Series and what happened there that made me trend number one in the world was a vision I had. WWE is not going to put this on camera. So when they don’t put it on camera, all the videos of me in the crowd are gonna go viral.
“If you’re at home, and you’re watching the crowd, and they’re looking at something, what are you going to do? You’re going to go on your phone, and you’re going to type to see what is the crowd reacting to that they’re not showing on camera? Now all of a sudden, number one trend in the world, right?”
