Still, nothing worked out pretty well. Slowly the company went on towards its death. In spite of having a hardcore fan base, nothing could stop the promotion from its death.

It started with a huge lead of WCW since most of the big names during the time was all with them. WWE did not have much big names in their hand but they were in progress is to create some new big stars.

And this is the time when WWE address their time period as the Attitude Era when they created some of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Kane, Mick Foley and more.

The Ratings of WWE kept on going upper where is WCW failed to capture the ratings ever again and ultimately in 2001 the promotion announced it bankruptcy and it was none other than Vince McMahon who bought WCW. The former Boss of WCW Eric Bischoff attempted to recapture WCW but ultimately he failed.

“Hulk Hogan would have been involved. Bill Goldberg likely would have been involved. Sting, a lot of the top names that you were already familiar with at WCW.

“Not all of them, by the way, but most of them would have likely been involved. There is another group within that list that would have most likely have been involved. But to be honest, we didn’t really have much of a chance to formulate a creative strategy during the period of time that we were trying to acquire WCW. Most of our energy was focused on raising $67 million, which was the price tag at the time.”
