This year’s WrestleMania did not come out with many surprises, but there was one particular surprise, and that was the performance of Bad Bunny, which was simply shocking.
Most of the time celebrities perform in the WrestleMania or any other wrestling events turn out to be a carryjob by the other wrestlers that were involved in the particular match. But in this case, the story was completely different, even without being a wrestling personnel, Bunny shocked the world with his amazing performance at WrestleMania 37.
Eric Bischoff Takes On WrestleMania Performance Of Bad Bunny
The Puerto Rican rapper teamed up with Damian Priest on John Morrison and the former two times WWE champion The Miz. Most of the fans were not much looking forward to this match, but one is performance was simply phenomenal. We can easily consider it as one of the best WrestleMania matches involving celebrities.
During a recent episode of 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff talked about Bunny’s WrestleMania 37 performance. He said;
“I think with what we saw with Bad Bunny in particular, just step back from what he did in the match which was phenomenal. Just think about it from a business and marketing strategy.
“If you’re a young talent and you don’t mind getting physical like Jake Paul, Logan Paul, Bad Bunny – there are others and there will be even more – once those individuals realized that hey, if I leverage my social media following into an opportunity to have a great performance like Bad Bunny did, I think what he did by taking advantage of that opportunity at WrestleMania and leverage that opportunity by reaching an audience he might not have otherwise reached and did it so successfully, that is a model that other people will try to follow.
“There will be more and more people that are going to be going, ‘Hey Bruce Prichard, Vince McMahon, over here. I’ve got 18 million followers, and I’ll really commit like Bad Bunny did.’ Because Bad Bunny did. He created a template for celebrity, non-wrestling performers to step into that world and do it successfully.”
Celebrities get involved in WrestleMania mostly to attract more fans and to make things more interesting for the fans. Even though fans do not expect much from the celebrity involved matches. But with the performances like Bunny, fans may look forward to celebrity in what matches in the future.
