Nia Jax was let go from the WWE contract amid another huge round of budget cuts in recent times. The company issued emails to their talents mentioning that budget cut was the simple reason to trim them off.
Those 18 unfortunate superstars to get fired are – Nia Jax, Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, “B-Fab” Briana Brandy, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Eva Marie, Keith Lee, Mia Yim, Harry Smith, Oney Lorcan, Franky Monet, Ember Moon, Trey Baxter, Jessi Kamea, Jeet Rama, Zayda Ramier, and Katrina Cortez.
The name of Nia Jax was a shocking one in this list given that she was a mainstay name on WWE Raw who also used to be a three-time champion on the female roster (1 time Raw Women’s Champion and 2 time Women’s Tag Team Champion). She was also a cousin to The Rock and Roman Reigns which is yet another reason that nobody assumed that she would be released from the contract.
An update from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that some of the wrestlers were released due to them refusing to get vaccinated, and not being big enough stars to get away with that. Nia Jax was one of those reported names although the claiming was denied by the former WWE Star.

Nia Jax clarified her WWE release
The former Total Divas star issued a statement of her own that she wasn’t given any choice or option about the vaccinations process. To deal with some personal issues, Nia Jax was granted a leave of absence to heal off. But upon requesting an extension to her break, she was left without a response. Afterward, she would read reports that she was released from the company.
“Earlier this week, after WWE sent me my schedule to return to the ring for the November 15 show, I asked for an extension to my mental health break, feeling that I needed more time and hoping I would have the ongoing support of the company I have given my all to for the past 7 years. I did not receive a response. The next I heard, I was being released. My vaccination status was never mentioned. I wasn’t given any choices or options,” Nia Jax stated on Instagram.
“It breaks my heart to be so abruptly let go, without consultation, while dealing with so much privately. I loved my career at WWE, I love the men and women I worked with, and I am going to need time to process this huge loss. I appreciate those people who have shown understanding and compassion during an incredibly difficult time.”
Nia Jax had not wrestled since suffering a loss to Shayna Baszler on the September 20 episode of RAW. WWE did a post-match angle where she suffered an elbow injury at the hands of her former tag team partner that helped her to be written off the storyline. She was thus supposed to stay away from WWE for some time.
