Back on All Out PPV, Daniel Bryan made his debut on AEW programming, proving the speculations right. This marked an end to his decade-long tenure with the WWE. The veteran was willing to enjoy wrestling as much as possible and getting some fresh opponents at the AEW promotion is his sole purpose behind leaving the Vince McMahon-owned promotion.
It was noted back in September that the belief is that Daniel Bryan had signed with AEW for three years. Word is that the door to WWE would remain open (especially given his wife Brie Bella is a WWE-lifer) if he wanted to return once his AEW run was over. Then the former WWE Champion himself indicated that the deal is for three years during a late September interview with The New York Post.

The former WWE Smackdown star also revealed that WWE was also going to allow him to wrestle in Japan if he would have re-signed with them. When asked if this AEW deal is his final pro wrestling contract for him, Daniel Bryan mentioned that he doesn’t know, as he feels invincible right now, and physically, he’s never felt so good since he was in his 20s.
Daniel Bryan also revealed that when he signed with AEW, he and his wife, WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella thought that this would be his last wrestling contract. Previously, it was also revealed that Brie has never forced her husband to stay with the WWE irrespective of what her status is.
Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract expired in late April and his last match took place in that month against Roman Reigns on Smackdown. Then he debuted with AEW at the All Out pay-per-view on September 5 while he then made his AEW in-ring debut on September 22 at the Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT in a dream match against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega which ended in a time limit draw.
