Former two times WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor recently said that he joined SmackDown to win championships. He made his return this week on Friday Night Smackdown against the former WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.
Finn Balor is in WWE since 2014. Before that he earned a huge recognition from Professional wrestling fans from around the globe under the ring name of Prince Devitt. He became very famous in the NXT before he joined the main roster in 2016.
Finn Balor Says He Is In Smackdown To Win Championships
He won the WWE Universal Championship very soon after joining the main roster. He was also the inaugural Universal Champion of WWE. But he was doomed by A terrible injury and his push was stalled. You went back to the NXT in 2019 once again where he won his second NXT Championship.
Last week on Friday Night Smackdown he made his return to the main roster once again. He made his return against the former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn. This week he defeated Sami Zayn and he also challenged the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title.
The match has been made official but the venue and the date has not been confirmed yet. But he will be challenging Roman Reigns for the title by next week or Summerslam. Surely WWE is planning something big for the Irish professional wrestler.
The former two times WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor recently spoke on Talking Smack where he said that he joined SmackDown to win championships. He said;
“It’s good to be back. It’s SmackDown. The fans are back, and Finn is back. I tell you, it was a hell of a pump. The energy is still running through my body. But, yeah, it’s good to be back.”
“Obviously, there is always a plan. I went to NXT, [and] I became the NXT Champion. I moved to RAW, [and] became the first Universal Champion, [and] became the two-time Intercontinental Champion. I went back to NXT and won the NXT Championship. So, the reason that I’m here on SmackDown is to win championships. Buckle your seat belts; we’re going for a ride!”
