Finn Balor Says He Is Ready To Become King Of The Ring

There was a time when King of the Ring was a pay per view event. But after 2002 it was rarely organised and not under any particular pay per view event. The two finalists this year are quite deserving and both deserve to win the prestigious crown. However, Finn needs to win the title more than Xavier Woods. It is rumored that Finn will receive the similar treatment that Drew McIntyre use to receive on Monday Night RAW. So it is really important for him to win this tournament.

However most of the reports and possibilities are indicating towards a victory for Xavier Woods. Since he never won anything individual in WWE, and he is the only member of the New Day who failed to achieve anything single title. And the way WWE booked everything, it looks like Xavier Woods would be winning the whole thing. Even though Finn Balor needs to win it more and he deserves it more as well. It would be interesting to look forward towards the match at the Crown Jewel pay per view event.

Finn Balor who is also a former two times WWE NXT champion recently spoke to the Bump of WWE where he said that he is ready to become the King of the Ring. He also reminded his history with Xavier Woods. He reminded that he defeated Xavier Woods when he was the WWE NXT Champion. He said;

“It doesn’t bother me at all. Of course, it’s a big deal for Woods, and it’s a big deal for me, too. It should be; it’s the King of the Ring. It’s a tournament that’s hugely prestigious in the history of WWE. It was probably one of the turning points of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s career. It sent him off with incredible momentum, and that’s what I hope to do tomorrow before I switch to the Raw brand.”

“Let me tell you this story. I’m the NXT Champion. I’m at Raw because we’re going on a European tour the next day. And I’m going to represent NXT. I’m sitting in the locker room, in my biz-cas (business casual attire), and it’s 7:20, and they need a dark match to go on at 7:40. Somebody comes into the locker room and says, ‘Hey, Finn, you’re up at 7:40. You’ve got a dark match.’ I think it’s a joke, so I throw my gear on.

“I don’t even tie my laces. I say I’m going to play along with this little rib that they’re playing on me. When I got to Gorilla, my music started playing, and Woods was there. They were like, ‘Oh, yeah, you’re wrestling Woods.’ Who won in three minutes? Finn Balor.”
