Sources claim that Ashley Massaro was transported from her home in Suffolk County, New York to a nearby hospital during her critical time. But that could not save her from one of the tragic deaths in pro-wrestling history. The cause of death is still unknown. Although The Blast reported that it has nothing to do with criminal acts. “The Suffolk County Medical Examiner in New York tells The Blast, Massaro died Thursday and was brought to the medical examiner’s office. We’re told the death is currently under investigation, but officials would not say more at this time.
Law enforcement sources tell us a “rescue call” came in at 5:23 AM to her home in Smithtown and was transported to a local hospital, where she passed away. We’re told police believe no foul play was committed, and are classifying the death as “non-criminal.”

Ashley Massaro is best known to the WWE Universe for being the Diva Search Hunt contest winner in 2005. It earned her the contract of one year with the company with a paycheck of $250000. She debuted as a valet for the WWE tag team champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Later she managed to reach the women’s championship picture. The most high-profile match of her career took place at Wrestlemania 23 where she challenged Melina for WWE Women’s Championship.
In 2008, Ashley Massaro took part in the Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjill match at WrestleMania 24 in Florida. It was the same year that she competed in her last match which was a 12-person tag team match on the April 28, 2008 episode of Raw. WWE officially released her from the contract on July 09, 2008.
