Two times WWE Hall of Famer Booker T worked in TNA Wrestling actively for three years. He was given the treatment of a legend in the promotion and he won multiple championships as well. A lot of big names signed with the promotion during the time. Kurt Angle and Sting add some of those names.
But Booker T was never satisfied with his TNA Wrestling career and he discussed it multiple times. Inspite of receiving a legends treatment in the promotion, he never got to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship when it was won by almost all of his contemporary legends.
From a Legend’s Perspective: Booker T Talks About TNA Wrestling’s Structure Issues
TNA was having an excellent time when these legends were working in the promotion. They were having very good TV ratings and viewership, still, their creative team had to face a lot of criticism. Booker T, who was a member of the TNA roster during the time also shared criticism for the lack of structure of the promotion. Speaking on his latest Hall Of Fame podcast, he said;
“It’s one thing I said about, you know, being in TNA. It was like no structure. I didn’t know who was ,running things sometimes, No one really came and told me, Hey, look, just like I said, talking in the British accent or the African accent, no one came and told me, ‘Hey man, look, don’t do that.’ You know, even though people were wondering why he was doing it? That type of stuff.
Booker T Was Active In TNA Wrestling For Three Years
“So when you have somebody in charge, um, and that’s the one thing that’s been different, my whole career about WWE opposed to WCW and whatnot. When I got to WCW, it was, you know, great. It was so loose. When I got to WWE f it was like, oh, man, I remember Dave…., ‘Hey Dave, I need some tickets for the night of the show.’
“And he goes, ‘How many do you need?’ I said, um, ’10.’ He goes, ‘We sell tickets here, bro.’ ‘Okay, can I get two?’ So checks and balances make a lot of sense because somebody might come and say they need a hundred tickets. You Feel, you feel me? I understand that totally. I get it.”
TNA Wrestling is currently going by the name of Impact Wrestling. It is not as big as it used to be previously, but it is still active and producing big stars. They made some mistakes during their prime time what caused their decline throughout the time. We hope the promotion becomes bigger in the near future.
