NXT is receiving improved ratings and viewership each and every week. Previously it struggled to cross 400k viewership, but now it is receiving over 700k viewership every week. If WWE keeps all improving the viewership and ratings of the NXT like this, soon we will get to see NXT beating AEW Dynamite every week, which is the biggest plan of the NXT right now.
The biggest reason behind the recent success of the NXT is involving the main roster stars into the show. Some of the biggest stars from the main roster has appeared in the NXT in recent episodes. One of the biggest appearances from the main roster was from the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
From Main Roster to NXT: Shawn Michaels’ Bold Recommendation
Rollins not only appeared on the main roster but defended the World Heavyweight Championship against former two times NXT champion Bron Breakker which drew huge ratings and viewership. WWE finally understood the formula of gaming more viewership and ratings for the NXT and they have utilized it properly.
Last week on NXT, Dominik Mysterio who is also a main roster star defeated Wes Lee to win the NXT North American championship and now this title is being used as a lower mid card title on the main roster as well as the title is being regularly defended on the NXT as well. During the recent media call, Shawn Michaels revealed that he wants more main roster starts in the NXT. Here is what he had to say;

“I guess to answer your question as far as who else we would like to have down here, I got, to be honest … we are thrilled to get what we do get, but you know I’d love to have the Brawling Brutes down here,” WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels continued,
“I wouldn’t mind you know, Imperium. Look I’d love to have Sami [Zayn] and Kevin [Owens] down here, anyone who is willing to come down here to help us out from the main roster. Let’s put it this way I wouldn’t think we would be turning a lot of people down.”
There are rumours that WWE wants to bring more top names from the main roster to the NXT to boost the ratings and viewership of the brand. There are even rumours that the biggest one in the wrestling world right now, WWE Universal Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns might appear on NXT soon. This would definitely boost the ratings and viewership of the show even more.
