Karrion Kross is active in Friday Night Smackdown since last year and he is working actively in the blue brand of WWE. He made his return to WWE last year during an episode of Smackdown. Triple H brought him back after becoming the Head of Creative of the promotion.

When he first returned to WWE last year, it looked like the promotion had big plans for him at first. Not only he had a mega feud with Drew McIntyre following his return, he also teased a future Universal Heavyweight title feud with Roman Reigns. These back to back successes made us believe that WWE had big plans for him.

From NXT to WWE: Karrion Kross Shares His Experience Adapting to the Main Roster Style

But unfortunately, he lost his big push as WWE lost focus on him. In spite getting demoted to the lower mid card, he is doing a pretty good job. Recently he appeared on Undisputed Podcast where he talked about transitioning to the main roster of WWE. Here are some highlights of what he said;

On his in-ring style: “From a performance standpoint, in-ring, what I always really liked a lot, growing up in a family of amateur wrestlers and boxing, was pro wrestling that kind of married the theatrics with stuff that really looks like legitimate combat sports. I was always involved in the practices and stuff like that, and when I got to see all of my superheroes in WWF/WWE on TV doing stuff like that, and then later on in my life ECW and All Japan etc, I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is so cool.’

Karrion Kross Made His WWE Main Roster Debut In 2021

“Because I knew some of this stuff wouldn’t work, and then you see the things that do work, and that always looked more devastating to me. So when I began training as a wrestler, I wanted to utilize some of that stuff because it spoke to me and I knew it would speak to other athletes and people with a legitimate background. That was just the way I wanted to perform.”

On adapting to WWE’s presentation: “When I went to WWE, I knew, with it being a story-based company, that coming in as a shoot fighter, wrestler type thing was not going to cut it. So I really began to lean in and embrace their process of creating a larger-than-life character type character/presentation. I had several conversations with Hunter about it to just explore what we could do with that.”

Recently, he had a feud with the former two times WWE World Champion AJ Styles and the latest instalment of this feud took place last week on Smackdown where it took less than two minutes for Styles to beat him. This very much looks like the end of this feud and we hope Kross’ status in WWE improves soon.
