Goldberg has been meme material for a portion of the pro-wrestling fans who makes fun of his wrestling abilities, all the time. The fact that he is still wrestling in his 50s and wins championships in the WWE, eats up some of them since the company still books a legend like him in top matches. One of those matches went down at this year’s Crown Jewel PPV event, last month.
Goldberg originally returned to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at this year’s Summerslam in a mega match. Lashley hurt his leg and then hurt his son Gage, badly to set up the rematch at the Saudi Arabia pay-per-view event. It was also contested under No Holds Barred Falls Count Anywhere rules which went to produce a brutal contest.

Usually, Goldberg’s matches are short in lengths to cover up his growing age but this bygone Crown Jewel match was different from those. It took place in and outside the ring where the legendary wrestler had to give it all to claim a dominant win over the All-Mighty from Monday Night Raw.

Goldberg had a message for his critics
Following the match, Goldberg reflected on his experience while appearing on the CarCast podcast. He admitted that he hasn’t had the best of in-ring experiences in Saudi Arabia. But with the latest match, he’s completely happy and it goes to the point where he believes that it silenced his critics.
“I don’t have the best track record in Saudi Arabia. I’ve knocked myself out in a match, I’ve dropped The Undertaker on his head and this and that. I needed to redeem myself and I’m not happy with my performance but I’m satisfied with it to a point where I think it’s shut all these f*ckers up finally.”
This bygone match against Bobby Lashley summed up Goldberg’s wrestling schedule for 2021 and there’s no update is available on when he’d be back on WWE TV. Prior to this, he competed at Summerslam and Royal Rumble 2021, and on both these occasions, he came up short while chasing the WWE Championship. The veteran has never held the prestigious title in his career and who knows whether he’d want to go after that title upon comeback.
