We have seen Goldberg in action at this year’s Summerslam against Dolph Ziggler.

It appeared to be a squash match in his favor which was no different from the earlier matches of his second stint.

A couple of spears and a jackhammer put the show-off away for good and perhaps brought back the indestructible ‘myth’ persona that he portrayed in WCW.

Undertaker feared to be the egg-man

We have previously reported how Dolph Ziggler was upset about the fact that he had to work at Summerslam against Goldberg in a squash match.

WWE booked him in a way where he suffered a beatdown despite being a former world champion. It harmed his status and perhaps most of the roster members would not agree to work in such a match.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg talked about this particular match.

He was glad that Ziggler wanted to put her over. For that, he can’t think him enough,

“I am greatly appreciative of what he did for me, and for his professionalism. I can’t say thank you enough.”

There’s a reason that WWE mostly booked Goldberg in short matches in recent times. He is a 50-plus wrestler who can be out of gasps at any point during a lengthy match.

The worst experience has come back at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia where the former WCW franchise was knocked out in a match against The Undertaker.

So the Summerslam match was to bring back his string status. However, Goldberg is still not satisfied with his performance,

“I’m never happy with any of my performances, and I’d lost my mojo, I felt like. But the reality is, the older you get, the more you’re going to lose your mojo because you can’t do it like you used to.”

The interview also focused on whether the match against Dolph Ziggler was the last of his career.

Goldberg almost confirmed that it was not stating that he will be back in action, soon. But he can’t confirm the same until WWE provide him another opportunity to wrestle,

“It’s by no means my farewell performance, nor was it my best performance, but you have to be realistic and take all things into consideration. It’s a very good possibility I’ll be back, but you don’t know it until it’s done.”
