Impact Wrestling will present their next special event Hard to Kill which will serve as their first PPV show in 2022. Two former WWE Superstars from the female division will fight it out in a rematch in a headliner for the women’s championship. While the match has already been announced a few days ago, it recently received a stipulation.
After the chaotic set of events over on Impact programming during post-Bound For Glory episodes, the Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James and Deonna Purrazzo will now meet in a Texas Death Match for the championship at Hard To Kill. Their match was the first bout announced for the January 8th, 2022 pay-per-view event.

Purrazzo and Mickie have been brawling with each other even before their first match at Bound for Glory. Another pandemonium broke down during the latest episode of Impact after which this particular stipulation came to fruition as the two hammered away at each other at a meet and greet session. It was Gail Kim’s idea to make this Hard to Kill contest into a Texas Death Match.

James took away the Knockouts Championship from Purrazzo at this year’s Bound For Glory, beginning her fourth run with the title. James hit a tornado DDT to put Purrazzo down and get the big win. This is her fourth Knockouts Championship reign. As for Purrazzo, she has two separate runs with the Knockouts belt who held it for 343 days before losing it.
After Hard to Kill, Purrazzo (still the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion) will face Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion, Rok-C. It is yet to be confirmed whether this Winner Take All match will happen at Impact or through another promotion since ROH has canceled their future TV tapings. Purrazzo appeared at ROH Final Battle last weekend, calling out the Rok-C for a future Title vs. Title Match.
