This Sunday at Extreme Rules pay per view event of WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns will defend his Championship against the former WWE Universal champion Finn Balor. This is not their first clash for the title, but WWE has booked the Demon Persona of Finn for this match.

Sounds pretty interesting right? Well, it is not. This is arguably the most predictable match in WWE history. It is quite easy to understand that Roman Reigns will retain his Championship at the end of the event. WWE tried to book Balor as a worthy competitor by booking him strong in a lot of recent bookings. But none of them seems to be working very well.

Is Roman Reigns Vs. Finn Balor The Worst Booked PPV Match Ever? – Analysis

The recent strategy of booking for WWE is quite clear. WWE will not book strongly any of those wrestlers who became famous outside of WWE before. This is one of the biggest reasons why WWE released so many of the wrestlers who are not homegrown talents of the promotion. This is also the reason behind making a wrestler like AJ Styles job week in and week out.

Finn Balor is no different. Previously he was known as Prince Devitt promotions like New Japan Pro Wrestling and on the independent circuit. He was the founder of the Bullet Club and was very famous outside of WWE already. He does not need WWE to prove the world of professional wrestling who he is. And this is one of the biggest reasons why you will not be winning the Championship at Extreme Rules.

WWE has let a lot of wrestlers go for no reason apparently. If you look at those wrestlers most of them were already famous outside of WWE. But there were some home grown stars as well that WWE released, such as Aleister Black, Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. It is difficult to understand why such big names got released.

Besides there are other reasons why this match is predictable. The biggest reason behind the failure of this booking is, the promotion of Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar match that has already been announced for the Crown Jewel pay per view event. The match is already scheduled for the Universal Championship. It has been announced publicly on an episode of Friday Night Smackdown recently.

So it is quite clear that a wrestler like Roman will not drop his title to Finn Balor. But we can expect a very good match from the duo at Extreme Rules. WWE will book Finn Balor on some main event matches for now but ultimately he will lose all of them. He will be stuck at the mid card division for a while and finally he will be released. This is what it looks like right now.
