WWE NXT star Jacy Jayne who is a former two times WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion recently talked about her recent betrayal to her former Tag Team partner Gigi Dolin and also addressed its comparison with the legendary angle of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty.
Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne had been a dominant tag team in the women’s division of the NXT for over a year. Together they were famously known as the Toxic Attraction and they won the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship two times together. After Mandy Rose was the released from WWE who was the leader of the Toxic Attraction, Gigi and Jacy decided to continue their Tag Team under the same name.

But things changed recently when Jacy decided to betray her own Tag Team partner in a recent episode of the NXT. Former three times WWE Women’s champion Bayley hosted her Ding Dong Hello talkshow on the NXT with Toxic Attraction being the special guest where Jacy betrayed Gigi at the end.
The segment became quite popular as it had been compared to the legendary segment between Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty from 1991. It is still considered as one of the biggest betrayals in professional wrestling history. A lot of fans are saying that the famous moment had been recreated on the NXT.
Jacy Jayne who is a former two times WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion recently spoke to Busted Open Radio where she talked about her recent betrayal to her former Tag Team partner Gigi Dolin and also addressed its comparison with the legendary angle of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty. She said;
“I actually didn’t really know much going into that day, they were kind of very hush-hush about everything happening. All I really knew was that was going to be on Ding Dong Hello. So that’s a lot of pressure having Bayley come back.
“It was the first time she even had that show in like two years. It was also the first time it was ever in front of a live audience because that was always done during the pandemic era. So I feel like there was a lot of pressure going into that alone.
“Then, kind of getting Shawn’s blessing to re-do some history there. That was a big deal for me. I didn’t want to mess it up. I didn’t want to screw up. I wanted to make a memory.I think everybody knew Toxic Attraction was going to explode soon, but to make it memorable, we had to go big.
“So we wanted it to be vicious. We wanted it to be memorable. We wanted people to talk about it, not just something like ‘Oh, that was a good segment. Yeah, whatever. Now they’re by themselves.’ Like, no, we want people to remember this and be like, ‘Oh, this is a new coming for two new superstars on a solo route.’”
